Cheryl Antlitz was inspired by her own journey through the unchartered seas of Autism. Driven by her commitment to this cause, Mrs. Antlitz founded RISE for Autism in 2011. RISE for Autism was created to meet the growing need for Resources, Interventions, Supports, and Education for all individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), their families, and the community at large.
Prior to the establishment of this organization, she gathered a group of parents, providers, and other professionals to navigate these unknown waters. She and the other founding members conducted a comprehensive review of resources, supports, and services available to the ASD community and determined the gaps in Anne Arundel County and through the state of Maryland. These identified deficiencies and served as the inspiration for the development of the RISE for Autism mission and vision.
Since 2011, RISE for Autism has implemented several programs, information resources, and services to those with ASD and other related disorders. RISE has offered programs such as PALS, providing training and consultation to local school systems, hosted year round workshops and conferences on large varieties of topics. Rise for Autism has also awarded of over $135,000 in grant funding to local families to assist with the financial burdens of services, medical expenses, and items not covered by insurances. Rise also has partnered with AACPD to improve the safety in our area through address flagging, the annual Health and Safety Fair and BE SAFE the Moving trainings. RISE for Autism has now opened The RISE for Autism Center in Glen Burnie, MD and is now starting ABA Services and Social Skills groups.
We continue to grow and meet the needs of all affected by Autism and strive to "bridge the gap" in services and opportunities for those with Autism.
Your generous donation will fund our mission.
