Maryland Autism wavier

  

The Maryland State Autism Waiver is a state and federally funded program that provides home- and community-based instructional services for children with autism spectrum disorder.

The waiver was designed to help keep children safe at home and in their communities, improve the lives of families, provide quality services that lead to independence, help develop skills and reduce negative behaviors.

Goals

The goals for the Autism Waiver

 

  • Keeping children with autism safe in their home and community;
  • Improving the quality of life or families of children with autism;
  • Providing quality services to maximize a child’s capacity for independence;
  • Providing quality services to support and develop functional and adaptive skills; and
  • Providing quality services to reduce maladaptive behaviors in children with autism spectrum disorder.

TI Services

Therapeutic Integration

Therapeutic Integration (TI) program is an after school and weekend program which offers participants a chance to explore recreation and to increase social skills in a group setting (3:1), while ensuring a safe, nurturing and enriching environment to meet each child/adolescent’s unique needs based on the child/adolescent’s individualized treatment plan.



Some of the activities we offer at our TI center  include:

  • Arts & Craft
  • Music, Dance & Movement 
  • Fitness & Exercise
  • Language  – Receptive & Expressive Language skills 
  • Socialization Groups to promote self-awareness 
  • Community activities and integration 
  • Behavior management services
